Lynn Vincent, RN MSN, ACNP BC
Lynn Vincent, MSN, ACNP

Originally from Rockford, Illinois, Lynn moved to Mississippi in 1981 and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 1988 and worked in the Coronary Care Unit at the University Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for six years following graduation. In 1994 she took the nursing position with Dr. Mulholland and Dr. Lott, working in the Division of Cardiology at UMMC in electrophysiology. When both, Dr. Mulholland and Dr. Lott, made the move to join Jackson Heart Clinic in 1995 she followed and remained Dr. Mulholland’s nurse until 2009, after finishing the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program at UMMC with a Master of Science in Nursing. Lynn is board certified through the ANCC and is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has served on the Advanced Practice Council at St. Dominic’s Hospital and previously at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center over the last few years. Her interests include fitness and more specifically running and cycling classes. She also loves baseball and is an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys watching her nephews play sports.

Angela Sterling, NP C
Angela Sterling, CFNP

Angela is a native of Jackson. She earned an Associate’s degree in nursing from Southwest Community College in 1995. She went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1999 and in 2001 with a Master of Science in Nursing. Angela is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

In her spare time, she enjoys teaching Sunday School at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, as well as numerous volunteer activities in her community and with the Ridgeland schools.

Beth Ward, ACNP
Beth Ward, ACNP

Beth is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. She grew-up in the Reservoir area of Brandon, Mississippi and graduated from Northwest Rankin High School. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997. She then received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2009 and graduated magna cum laude. Her clinical experience includes 18 years of working with cardiac patients. She started her career as a nurse at St. Dominic’s Hospital on the telemetry floor. Beth then worked in the St. Dominic’s Hospital Heart Catheterization Lab for two years and later as an electrophysiology specialist for eight years. She has worked at Jackson Heart Clinic since 2009. Beth currently resides in Brandon with her husband and two children and attends St. Paul Catholic Church.

Leslie Barry, CNP
Leslie Barry, NP-C

Leslie is a Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy Nurse practitioner and licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. She grew-up in Magee, Mississippi. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing that she received in 2005 from William Carey College. She then received a Master of Science in Nursing from the Mississippi University for Women in 2010 and graduated summa cum laude. Her nursing career began in the emergency room at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Having a strong desire to work more closely with cardiac patients she then transferred to the cardiac care unit within St. Dominic’s Hospital.

She began her nurse practitioner career working in a family practice in Magee. Leslie has worked at Jackson Heart Clinic since 2011 as a hospital nurse practitioner.

She and her husband have three children. She is active in her church and involved in both local and international missions.

Mindy Jo Byrd, MSN, BSN, RN, FNP C
Mindy Jo Byrd, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

A native Mississippian, Mindy Jo earned a BA in Biology at the University of Mississippi. After graduating, she decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2007. Her first job was at St. Dominic’s Hospital, where she worked on the cardiac step-down unit. It was at this point where she began to work along side the Jackson Heart Clinic physicians and realized her love and passion for cardiology. In 2010, she returned to school and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women.

Most of Mindy Jo’s jobs have centered around cardiovascular care. She has been employed with the Jackson Heart Clinic since 2012 where she is employed as a Nurse Practitioner.

Mindy Jo is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, and Mississippi Nurses Association. She is active with the local MNA chapter where she serves as secretary. She has served on the Advanced Practice Council at St. Dominic’s Hospital. She is a member of Pinelake church and has served on their nursery ministries. She has utilized her professional knowledge and skills to serve on local and foreign medical missions.

In her spare time, Mindy Jo enjoys spending time with family, participating in outdoor activities and playing with her chihuahua, Cody. She resides in Brandon.

Dean Elizabeth “Libby” Whitley, RN, ANP BC
Dean Elizabeth “Libby” Whitley, ANP-BC

Libby received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1981 from the University of South Alabama, Master of Science in Nursing with a cardiovascular specialty in 1986 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Adult Nurse Practitioner Post Master’s Certificate in 1995 from the University of Mississippi. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing and Alabama State Board of Nursing. She was born and lived in south Mississippi most of her life. Libby has worked as a registered nurse in cardiovascular recovery and CVICU. She also worked as a cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist for twelve years. She has worked as a cardiology nurse practitioner since 1998.

Libby is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association, the National Lipid Association and the Southeastern Lipid Association. When not working, she spends time with her husband, two daughters, and friends.

Amanda Barry, ACNP-BC
Amanda Barry, ACNP

Amanda is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. She graduated from William Carey College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1999. After working as a critical care nurse for eight years, Amanda graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2007. She was privileged to work as an ACNP for Jackson Pulmonary Associates prior to joining Jackson Heart Clinic. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association and Mississippi Nurses Association. Amanda enjoys spending time with her four children.

Amy Valentine, AGACNP
Amy Valentine, AGACNP-BC

Amy is a native of Forest, Mississippi and graduated from East Rankin Academy. Currently, she is board certified by the ANCC and is an AGACNP (adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner). Amy received her Associate’s degree in nursing from Hinds Community College in 2011 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Mississippi University of Women in 2013. Later, Amy received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, graduating with honors. Her clinical experience includes one year in the intensive care unit and five years in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Amy currently resides in Flowood.

Summer Mitchell, MSN FNP BC
Summer Mitchell, NP-BC

Summer is a family nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a native of Brandon, Mississippi and attended Jackson Preparatory School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2010 and later received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2014, where she graduated on the President’s List with honors. Summer worked as a registered nurse at St. Dominic’s on the orthopedic floor for five years before she accepted a job as a nurse practitioner for St. Dominic’s Hospital in internal medicine, where she has spent the last three years helping manage acute and chronic medical conditions in the hospital with an emphasis on preventative care. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and was awarded the Provider Champion Award for diabetes management from St. Dominic’s Hospital in 2016. Summer resides in Brandon with her husband and daughter. She is a member of Pinelake Church and enjoys traveling and hiking in her spare time.

Kristen McCoy, MSN, FNP C
Kristen McCoy, FNP-BC

Kristen McCoy is a native of Magee, Mississippi. She has lived in the Jackson area for the last 20 years. She attended Belhaven University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Kristen later attended University of Mississippi Medical Center where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital for many years. After receiving a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Mississippi Medical Center, Kristen worked in a hospital setting providing care as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has recently joined the Jackson Heart Clinic team and will be focusing her practice on electrophysiology.

Kristen is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Mississippi Nurses Association.

Kristen resides in Madison with her husband and daughter, where they are members of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoys traveling, reading, and physical fitness.

Kate Totty, CFNP
Kate Totty, CVNP-BC

A native Mississippian, Kate earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2004. She began her nursing career in the intensive care unit and eventually, after discovering her passion for cardiology, transferred into the cardiac intensive care unit. After a two-year stint in research at the University Hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand, Kate returned home to Mississippi to further her studies and earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2013. After being the sole cardiac nurse practitioner for a local non-profit hospital, Kate decided to migrate into a clinic setting to further expand her experience. She believes prevention is paramount in caring for her cardiac patients and aims to deliver the highest level of care. She has worked with Jackson Heart Clinic since 2014. Kate is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, as well as by the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine, and is an active member of the local chapter of the American Heart Association and a member of the American College of Cardiology.

She enjoys traveling with her husband around the world and spending time outdoors with her three young children. She attends Meadowbrook Church and has participated in several medical missions overseas.

Holly Bridges, FNP
Holly Bridges, NP-C

Holly is a nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. She grew up in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Her educational background began at Co-lin Community College, where she played softball and received her associates degree. She then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Southern Mississippi in 2008 and a Master in Science of Nursing from University of Southern Mississippi in 2010. She began working at St. Dominic Hospital in the coronary care unit in 2009 as a registered nurse. Cardiac patients have always been dear to her and she has continued that specialty care with Jackson Heart Clinic since being employed January of 2011 as a nurse practitioner.

She lives in Gluckstadt, MS with her husband and two children. She is active in her church and enjoys exercise and outdoors with her family during her free time.
