After growing up in the neighboring state of Alabama, Dr. Ma traveled to the Northeast and attended University of Pennsylvania where he graduated magna cum laude in bioengineering. He then returned to the University of Alabama Birmingham to earn his medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha honors.
Once he completed his internal medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Dr. Ma trained at the joint Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center for his cardiovascular disease fellowship, where he was mentored by internationally recognized leaders in structural and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Ma joins Jackson Heart Clinic and brings expertise in the multimodality imaging of structural and valvular heart disease, including 3D echocardiography and structural cardiac CT. He is board certified in internal medicine and adult echocardiography with plans to certify in general cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and vascular imaging.
Dr. Ma and his wife, Thy, are expecting their first child. He enjoys cooking, traveling, playing tennis and cycling during his spare time.
