WHY PARTICIPATE IN A CLINICAL TRIAL?

When you volunteer to participate in a Clinical Trial you are helping to discover new ways to prevent, detect, and treat disease. Advancements in the treatment of disease are only possible today because of people who have participated in clinical trials.

At JHC, the goal of our research program is to improve the quality of life for those with cardiovascular disease both today and in the future.

WHAT IS A CLINICAL TRIAL (ALSO KNOWN AS A RESEARCH STUDY)?

Clinical trials are a portion of research that is critical to developing new ways to treat, detect, or prevent diseases.  Some trials test new drugs, some test new devices and procedures, and some test new ways to use existing therapies. The goal of these types of clinical trials is to determine if a new test or treatment works and is safe. Other clinical trials are for data collection only, or to assess the quality of life of a person with a certain disease.
